A lot of drama happened in the Eluru region few weeks
with the TDP leader and Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar assaulting a
police inspector. Chintamaneni went absconding after the assualt. He was underground
but now it is reportedly heard that he has surrendered before Eluru court.
Within no time of his surrender Chintamaneni was
released on conditional bail with two sureties of Rs 40000. According to
sources Chintamaneni was trying for bail while he was underground and came out once
his bail was confirmed. He walked out a free man within no time of his
surrender.
The reason why many MLAs and Ministers get away with
anything they do because the law is very weak. Things got serious in the matter
because the inspector who was assaulted by Chintamaneni is reportedly from a SC/ST
community.
