In democracy the system of ruling happens through elected representatives. But if we look at the system of election mathematically the percentage of elected winners is anywhere between 30% - 35% which means that nearly 65% don't want that person as their representative. But our chosen representatives talk as if 80% of the people have supported them.
The two crore signature campaign was rolled out for the release of Y S Jagan recently. It is known fact that a genuine 2 crore people never came to give the signature demanding his release. The same is true about the Telangana protests. We hear almost every Telangana seeking leader shouting at the top of his voice that they are the voice of 4 crore Telangana people.
But in reality, it could be that of the entire population of Telangana, not even 30% of them might want a separate state. The numbers and statistics are just a game of politics and politicians. That's what it is.
